Catarina Migliorini became a trending topic after announcing she was auctioning her virginity to raise money for charity. The 20-year-old student hopes to raise money for poverty-stricken families in her home country of Brazil.
Australian filmmaker Justin Sisely is featuring Migliorini in a documentary he is working on titled “Virgins Wanted.” The film follows men and women as they navigate the world of attempting to lose their virginity. The auction for Migliorini and a man, Alex Stepanov, serve as the climax to the film.
Sisely is also the auction organizer. He was shocked to learn that Migliorini was participating in the auction for charity. “I was surprised she said that because in all my dealings with her, she made it clear that it was a business decision for her,” Sisely told the Huffington Post.
“Now, given how big this story is in Brazil, she’s trapped. If she doesn’t give any money to charity, she’s going to look bad,” he said.
Migliorini has received plenty of backlash from charity organizers, with some saying they would never accept money for charity earned in this way.
Bidding closes on October 15. Women seem to be popular, as Migliorini has received a high bid of $190,000, while Stephanov has received an offer of $1,300.
The two virgins will close the deal by joining the mile-high club. Sisely says this is a way to bypass prostitution laws.
