Shangri-la Hotel in International Ocean Clean-up Day
This year saw the 8th International Ocean Clean-up Day, a project taken part in by the Shangri-la hotel in Shenzhen, which supported he campaign for “10,000 people fight to ban shark fin products”, in a benefit held by Shenzhen Blue Ocean Environment Protection Agency.
Nearly 40 volunteers in blue T-shirts took part in picking up marine trash on Dongchong Coast, in an effort to both protect the international marine environment and promote environmental awareness.
It is said that Shangri-la has come up with “sustainable marine products”, and has committed to the campaign by stating that shark fin products won’t be served in all the subsidiary restaurants and or in any banquets held there.
CEO of the hotel commented that, “marine environmental protection means a lot to ecological and economic development of the city, and I do hope there will be more people that join us to purify and beautify the environment.”
