Concert by saxphonist Andrew Young to be staged in Shenzhen

British saxphonist Andrew Young will perform a series of tracks from famous movies as well as some Chinese pop songs in May at Shenzhen Concert Hall.

The program will include “Moon River,” “Unchained Melody,” “My Heart Will Go On,” “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” and “I Will Always Love You.”

Born in Liverpool, Young started to play both the clarinet and saxophone at the age of 8. He later moved to Germany to pursue a broader and more eclectic involvement in all genres of music and was presented with an honorary doctorate at the Immadec University in Vienna.

He has toured extensively in Europe where he has performed at numerous functions and events, including sporting events such as the 2009 Ski World Championships in Bulgaria.

Young performed in Beijing in 2008 and Beijing Daily called him the “Prince of the Saxophone”.
